Flange Rubber Gaskets

Western Rubbers is a leading manufacturer of high quality rubber gaskets

Flange Gaskets

Flange Rubber Gaskets

Generally, two mating surfaces of the flanges have microscopic irregularities on their surfaces. In order to fill those microscopic irregularities, a mechanical rubber gasket is used so as to prevent leakages from or into the joined objects while under compression. Such a gasket is called a flange rubber gasket. Flange Rubber Gaskets act as a static seal between the two irregular flange faces and are made to operate under various operating conditions with varied pressure and temperature ratings.

Elastomers Used for Manufacturing Flange Rubber Gaskets

Fluroelastomers (Viton)

Also known as FKM or Fluoroelastomer, it is known to have excellent chemical resistance in comparison to all materials.

Neoprene

Also known as Chloroprene rubber & has chlorine in its polymer chain. Due to this it is naturally fire retardant.

Nitrile

Nitrile Butadiene Rubber known for its swell resistance use in alcohol, petrochemical and other derived fluids.

Natural Rubber

The only available natural rubber sourced from rubber trees, it has one of the best physical properties amongst all elastomers.

Silicone

One of the most versatile synthetic rubbers. Can resist a very wide range of temperatures from -50 to 300 degree celsius.

Hydrogenated Nitrile Rubber (HNBR)

It is a saturated form of nitrile rubber known for physical strength retention and resistance to oil, heat and chemical.

Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM)

Ethylene Propylene Diene Rubber has excellent weather, heat, and ozone resistance due to saturated polymer chain.

Types of Flange Rubber Gaskets

Flange Ring Gaskets

Ring Gaskets

As the name suggests, ring gaskets resemble flat rings. They come with an inner diameter (ID), outer diameter (OD) and thickness. Western Rubbers’ can manufacture customized ring gaskets in a variety of material like Silicone, EPDM, Viton, Nitrile, etc. and in and given size. The manufacturing process may include direct molding (endless gaskets), usually preferred for small sized gaskets or splicing and vulcanizing, if the gasket has a large diameter. This depends on client specification.

Flange Full Face Gasket

Full-Face Gasket

A full-face gasket is similar to a ring gasket with the exception of having bolt holes which are aligned in a bolt circle at the Pitch Circle Dimeter (PCD).Both ring gaskets and full-face gaskets come in metric and standard sizes and in various thicknesses. Materials will vary according to the application. All gasketsare made using our in-house high-speed, high accuracy die cutting equipment to produce products that meet your exact requirements.
